The Directorate of Planning, Statistics and Evaluation, Govt. of Goa on August 04, 2026, issued the Goa Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Rules, 2026, further to amend the Goa Registration of Births and Deaths Rules, 1999.
The amendment substitute Form No. 2 (Death Report). The revised Form 2 prescribes detailed requirements for recording the date of death, name, sex, age, address, place of death, residence and occupation of the deceased. It standardises date and name formats, requires sex to be recorded as Male, Female or Transgender Person, and provides age recording based on completed years, months, days or hours depending on the age of the deceased. It also requires details of the place of death and usual residence of the deceased and specifies nine occupational categories, including cultivator, agricultural labourer, government employee, private employee, domestic helper and non-worker.
